View from the Dev Lab

The Dev Lab is where I spend a lot of my time - Here's the view from where I sit.

Evening at Pop's

My brother Alex
A super-quick contour drawing of my father

Leaf cleanup

These sketches from my window are definitely a reaction to the shock of actually having a window after having spent the last 3 years or so in a windowless cell-type office. An office with a window is an incredible thing. I hope I never have to go back...

Water Bottle

Super-quick water bottle sketch in between sandwich bites at lunch today.

Band Practice

Quick sketch done while on break last night at band practice.

Treetop clouds

It was a beautiful, sunny morning, then these clouds came in for about 15 minutes.

After lunch

A banana peel from my lunch today

Ning Nong at Bath Time

A quick sketch tonight: My friend Jim (Ning Nong) at his new DJ night (Bath Time)

Oil paintings (update)

Here's an update on the three oil paintings I started the other day

They're all pretty dark - the pictures came out lighter than they actually are .

This is turning into a dog-blog

I think we kept Kyle up too late last night - he's been asleep most of the day - a perfect drawing subject.

Kyle in repose

Kyle, doing what he does best, lazing in our (his) floppy comfy chair from three different angles.

Mike and Christine

A couple of quick moleskine sketches done after dinner last night:

Here's Christine with a glass of wine after dinner - though I didn't even remotely capture her face...

Mike playing Super Mario Brothers on the Wii - again - not really his face, somehow...

90 second poses

I spent some time at Pose Maniacs tonight - warmed up with some 45 second poses, then onto 90 second poses. These are the 90 second ones:

Desk plant

I was curious what the leaves would look like hovering with no stems.

Evans Way (again)

Another attempt at the view from my office - I think this one turned out a bit better than last time. This one was done with watercolor paint - the last one was an early attempt with watercolor pencils.

Watercolors and kits

Leaf from the back yard this morning

Brunch

Whitman's sampler tin, guitar pick, 2 SD Media cases

Evans Way

As viewed from my office window

I really need to start scanning instead of photographing these - this looks much better in real life...

I'm excited to figure out how these things work
